Job Description

Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks for production equipment, building systems, and grounds. They will receive specific work assignments under general supervision, and resolve most problems on their own or with some supervisory assistance. The Maintenance Technician is expected to practice and adhere to the Company’s Six Sigma principles.

  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance jobs on equipment.
  • Perform electrical wiring and troubleshoot existing wiring.
  • Repair and/or installation of plumbing (I.E. black pipe threading, copper pipe sweating as well as PVC.)
  • Complete basic Machinery repairs.
  • Demonstrate strong mechanical knowledge.
  • Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power).
  • Fix lights, water problems, and other building maintenance tasks.
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering with developing equipment and tooling & utility rearrangement projects.
  • Ability to do basic cleaning duties before or after assigned job as required.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and or shift that is required.
  • Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports
  • Pack parts and equipment for shipment for service.
  • Familiar with lock out tag out procedures.
  • Fabricate or modify parts, using shop equipment.
  • Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment

Job Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

Install, maintain and repair filling equipment, conveyors, labelers, and misc packaging equipment. Maybe asked to assist repairs to piping and pumps.


  • Setup fill lines for production runs.
  • Clean and lubricate all parts of equipment (Fillers, conveyors, sealers, erectors, etc).
  • Works at an acceptable pace.
  • Demonstrate neat work practices.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment

Meet all Packaging Line Mechanic Level and perform the following:

  • Listen for unusual sounds from equipment during operation to detect malfunctions. Diagnose issue and resolve to keep equipment running efficiently.
  • Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Assist in training of fellow employees to transfer skills

Other Duties:

  • Keep work areas clean and neat.
  • Follow all EMCO safety policies.
  • Execution of activities as assigned.
  • Responsibilities involving food safety, when required.

2nd shift hours are Monday – Thursday 3:30 pm – 2:45 am

· Hourly Rate range - $22-28 (depending on experience)

· Training occurs on 1st shift (5 am-4 pm) Mon-Fri
